Suitable for Beginners
Covid restraints mean that classes are currently 50 minutes per session to accommodate all it’s members.
This class is ideal to follow on from the 4.5-6 years session, however it is still suitable for beginners. The groups are organised on age & ability. The one hour session comprises of a 10 minute warm up, 15 minutes on core skills and badge work on floor then 3 x 10 minute rotations around the women’s apparatus (beam, bars, vault and trampoline alternating each week), cool down and appraisal.
Recreational classes now follow CGA’s award scheme which ranges from level 1-7 & children can achieve a certificate for each piece of apparatus for each level. This is designed to give the gymnast progression and a sense of achievement. Once the gymnast has successfully performed the skills necessary on their badge, then the following term they will move onto the next level. A presentation of awards is held on the last week of term.
